The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a significant cash reward of Rs 5 crore for the Indian Under-19 women’s cricket team after their remarkable victory in the 2025 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. This triumph marks their second consecutive title, as they remained unbeaten throughout the competition. In the final, held at Bayuemas Oval on Sunday, India secured a commanding nine-wicket win over South Africa, showcasing their outstanding performance and determination.

The BCCI shared their heartfelt congratulations with the team, stating, “To recognize this incredible achievement, the BCCI has announced a cash reward of INR 5 crore for the victorious squad and their support staff, headed by Nooshin Al Khadeer, the team’s coach.”

Roger Binny, the BCCI President, praised the players’ flawless campaign: “This exceptional performance is a testament to the growth of women’s cricket in India. Our girls have made us incredibly proud, and this victory is a sign of the rise of Indian women’s cricket on the global stage.”

India’s top-order batters and powerful bowling attack played a crucial role throughout the tournament. G. Trisha emerged as the standout player, finishing as the highest run-scorer with 309 runs, also taking seven wickets. She was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament. Spinners Vaishnavi Sharma and Aayushi Shukla excelled as well, taking 17 and 14 wickets, respectively.

This victory marks India’s second consecutive win in the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, following their 2023 triumph. The win further demonstrates the strength of India’s grassroots cricket system and the BCCI’s dedication to nurturing young talent. “This victory is a reflection of their commitment, resilience, and remarkable skill,” said Devajit Saikia, Honorary Secretary of the BCCI.

India’s exceptional bowling performance in the final saw them restrict South Africa to a mere 82 runs, with Trisha Gongadi taking three wickets. In the chase, Trisha’s unbeaten 44 runs off 33 balls and Sanika Chalke’s 26* off 22 balls guided India to a swift victory in just 11.2 overs.

BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla expressed his admiration for the team, stating, “Their discipline, determination, and fearless approach to cricket have made the nation proud. These back-to-back wins will inspire countless young girls across India to pursue cricket and follow their dreams.”
