Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, and other political leaders extended their congratulations to rocket scientist V. Narayanan on his appointment as Secretary, Department of Space, and Chairman of ISRO. Leaders expressed pride in his Tamil Nadu roots and lauded his achievements.

In a post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Stalin highlighted the significance of Narayanan’s appointment, noting that it was a moment of immense pride for the state. The Chief Minister praised Narayanan’s journey from humble beginnings in Kanyakumari district, where he studied in a government school, to reaching the leadership position at ISRO through hard work and dedication.

“ISRO is set to achieve greater heights under Narayanan’s leadership, given his significant contributions to missions like Chandrayaan-2, Chandrayaan-3, Aditya-L1, and Gaganyaan. His journey will undoubtedly inspire countless students from Tamil Nadu to pursue excellence,” Stalin wrote.

Leader of Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami also congratulated Narayanan, describing his appointment as a matter of pride for Tamil Nadu. “May ISRO achieve unparalleled success under your leadership,” he stated.

PMK President Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss and AMMK leader TTV Dhinakaran also praised Narayanan’s elevation, acknowledging his exceptional contributions to India’s space research.

With nearly four decades of experience, Narayanan has played a pivotal role in India’s space programs and held key positions at ISRO. His leadership is anticipated to propel the organization to new heights of global recognition.
