President Donald Trump has invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House on February 4, 2025, for talks on regional peace and strategies to counter mutual threats, according to a PTI report.

Netanyahu will be the first foreign leader to visit the White House during Trump’s second term, as confirmed by the Israeli Prime Minister’s office on X.

In an official letter, Trump stated, “I look forward to discussing how we can bring peace to Israel and its neighbors and efforts to counter our shared adversaries.”

The meeting comes ahead of negotiations for the second phase of a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, mediated by the U.S. The first phase, initiated in the final days of Joe Biden’s presidency, temporarily halted the 15-month-long Gaza conflict that began on October 7, 2023.

Trump had previously dispatched his special Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, to assist in negotiations and later claimed full credit for the ceasefire agreement during his inauguration speech.

The next round of talks, starting on February 3, will focus on securing a permanent end to the war, an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, and long-term regional stability. While an initial hostage exchange has taken place, Netanyahu has vowed to resume military action if Hamas fails to meet Israel’s demands.

Trump has been a strong supporter of Netanyahu, defending Israel’s actions in Gaza and reaffirming its alliance with the U.S., which remains Israel’s largest military aid provider.

Beyond the ceasefire, Netanyahu is expected to urge Trump to maintain pressure on Iran and advance efforts to finalize a landmark normalization agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
