Russian President Vladimir Putin has lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “India-first” approach and expressed his commitment to establishing manufacturing plants in India. Speaking at an investment summit in Moscow, Putin praised PM Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, noting its significant contribution to enhancing India’s global standing.

Putin emphasized the stability fostered by India’s policies, which he believes have created a favorable environment for business and growth. “Prime Minister Modi has introduced the ‘Make in India’ program, and we are ready to initiate manufacturing operations there. Under his leadership, India is creating stable conditions with a focus on national interests. We view investing in India as a profitable opportunity,” Putin said. The Russian President commended India’s leadership for placing national priorities at the forefront, which has resulted in robust economic growth and improved quality of life for its citizens. He particularly appreciated India’s efforts to create an enabling environment for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

At the 15th VTB Russia Calling Investment Forum, Putin also underscored the importance of BRICS and BRICS+ in advancing global cooperation.
