UK’s King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla Make Private Visit to Bengaluru for Rejuvenation Break
UK’s King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla quietly visited Bengaluru over the weekend, avoiding the media spotlight during their four-day stay in India’s tech hub. The royal couple’s “super private visit” occurred as they returned from Samoa, where King Charles attended the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2024 as the leader of the Commonwealth, comprising 56 countries.
Beginning their first Oceania tour on October 18, the couple visited Australia and Samoa, concluding their trip on October 26. This journey marked the king’s first international travel since his cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
Sources from the state protocol and police revealed that during their return, they opted for a rejuvenation break at the Soukya Health and Wellness Centre in Bengaluru’s Whitefield. Their private jet landed at HAL airport on the night of October 26. The couple appreciated Dr. Issac Mathai Nooranal’s unique treatment model, which combines various medical systems. Soukya was established by Dr. Mathai, who serves as the holistic health consultant for the British royal family.
A doctor affiliated with the royal family accompanied them. Due to the private nature of the visit, there was no formal welcome from the state government. They are expected to depart Bengaluru in the early hours of Wednesday. Traffic in the city was also regulated to minimize curiosity about the VVIP movement. Attempts to contact Dr. Mathai and the Soukya staff for comments were unsuccessful.
While in Australia, King Charles engaged with a crowd of over 10,000 people who came to see him against the iconic backdrop of the Sydney Opera House.
