Tesla CEO Elon Musk predicted on Thursday that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau may be ousted in the next election. Responding to a post on X, Musk commented, “He will be gone in the upcoming election,” after a user sought his support in removing Trudeau from office.

Trudeau faces mounting opposition from Pierre Poilievre’s Conservative Party and Jagmeet Singh’s New Democratic Party. With his minority government, Trudeau’s position remains particularly vulnerable to changing public opinion and political pressures.

Musk has been vocal in his criticism of Canadian policies, particularly regarding government regulations impacting online platforms and freedom of expression. He recently opposed Canada’s new requirements mandating streaming services to register for government oversight.

Meanwhile, potential shifts in U.S. leadership could present additional challenges for Canada. If Donald Trump returns to office, his proposed 10% tariff on all imports may have serious economic implications for Canada, which sends 75% of its exports to the U.S. Canadian economists and officials warn that such policies could strain bilateral trade relations.

Canada’s diplomatic relations with India have also reached a low point, as India raised concerns over extremist activities and anti-India sentiments within Canada. Tensions escalated after Canadian officials made controversial allegations about India’s involvement in the death of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

In response, India has taken firm diplomatic action, including recalling its High Commissioner from Canada. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned what he described as a “deliberate attack” on a Hindu temple in Canada, urging Canadian authorities to ensure justice and safeguard Indian interests.
