Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders Parvesh Verma, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and Kapil Mishra are set to take the oath as cabinet ministers alongside Delhi Chief Minister-elect Rekha Gupta at a grand ceremony at Ramlila Maidan on Thursday.
According to an official notification, Ashish Sood, Pankaj Kumar Singh, and Ravinder Indraj Singh will also be sworn in as ministers in the new BJP-led Delhi government.
The swearing-in ceremony, which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries, marks a significant political transition in the capital.
Profiles of the New Cabinet Ministers
Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma
A prominent Jat leader in Delhi politics, Parvesh Verma gained national attention after defeating AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency by a margin of 4,089 votes. He previously served as a Lok Sabha MP from West Delhi (2014–2024) and was a frontrunner for the chief minister’s post after BJP’s landslide victory, securing 48 out of 70 assembly seats.
Kapil Mishra
Kapil Mishra won the Karawal Nagar assembly seat by defeating AAP’s Manoj Kumar Tyagi with a margin of 23,355 votes. A former minister in the Arvind Kejriwal government, he was removed from the cabinet after leveling corruption allegations against Satyendar Jain. Mishra later joined the BJP and contested the 2020 Delhi elections from Model Town but lost to AAP’s Akhilesh Pati Tripathi.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa
Manjinder Singh Sirsa reclaimed the Rajouri Garden seat in this election, defeating AAP’s Dhanwati Chandela by over 18,000 votes. He had previously represented the constituency in the 2017 by-elections but faced a setback in the 2020 assembly polls when he lost to Chandela.
Ashish Sood
A strong contender for the CM post, Ashish Sood is a senior BJP leader who secured victory in Janakpuri by defeating AAP’s Parveen Kumar by 18,766 votes. He also holds an important role as the party’s co-incharge for Jammu and Kashmir.
Pankaj Kumar Singh
Son of former MCD leader Raja Mohan Singh, Pankaj Kumar Singh has an extensive background in municipal politics. A dentist by profession, he has held key positions in the MCD before winning his first assembly election from Vikaspuri, defeating AAP’s Mahinder Yadav by nearly 13,000 votes.
Ravinder Indraj Singh
A key Dalit leader in the Delhi BJP, Ravinder Indraj Singh won the Bawana assembly seat by defeating AAP’s Jai Bhagwan Upkar by more than 31,000 votes. He is an active member of the BJP’s SC Morcha and has been dedicated to social work for the Dalit community.
With these key appointments, the new Delhi cabinet takes shape as the BJP begins its governance in the national capital.
