Ranchi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Sankalp Patra (manifesto) for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections during an event in Ranchi on Sunday. The launch was attended by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, BJP leader Sanjay Seth, and BJP Jharkhand President Babulal Marandi.
During his speech, BJP Jharkhand President Babulal Marandi emphasized the party’s focus on development, asserting that Jharkhand has experienced significant progress under BJP-led governments. “Whenever the BJP has governed Jharkhand, development has been a priority. On the other hand, when the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) was in power, they failed to deliver on their promises and focused solely on personal interests. The people are now determined to form an NDA government,” Marandi stated.
BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo further highlighted that the manifesto addresses key issues such as agriculture, women’s empowerment, youth opportunities, infrastructure, and the overall development of all communities in Jharkhand. The BJP promises to create jobs, promote industrial growth, and enhance rural infrastructure, while also ensuring better healthcare and educational facilities for the people of the state. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma also pointed out that the Sankalp Patra includes 150 specific resolutions aimed at securing a brighter future for the state, with an emphasis on economic growth and social welfare.
Shah, in his address, underscored the BJP’s commitment to bringing prosperity to Jharkhand through targeted development plans and highlighted the party’s successful track record in other states. He also expressed confidence in the NDA’s ability to secure a decisive mandate, promising that the BJP-led government would work tirelessly for the betterment of the people of Jharkhand.
Jharkhand’s elections for the 81 Assembly seats will be held in two phases, on November 13 and November 20, with vote counting scheduled for November 23. This election is seen as a critical test for the BJP as it seeks to expand its presence in the state, which has traditionally been a stronghold for regional parties like JMM. The results could have significant implications for the state’s political landscape and its development trajectory in the years to come.
