The Delhi Traffic Police issued a comprehensive advisory on Friday to ensure smooth traffic management during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s multiple engagements in Delhi. These events, which include key project inaugurations and public rallies, are anticipated to draw significant crowds and vehicular movement.

PM Modi’s Scheduled Events

Inauguration at Swabhiman Apartments:
PM Modi will begin his day at Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar around 12:10 PM, where he will inaugurate 1,675 flats constructed under the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project. This initiative aims to upgrade the living conditions of families in slums by providing modern housing facilities. Beneficiaries from the Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) clusters will receive keys to their new homes directly from the Prime Minister.

Urban Redevelopment Projects:
The Prime Minister will also unveil two major urban redevelopment projects:

  1. World Trade Centre (WTC) at Nauroji Nagar: This project aims to position Delhi as a global trade hub, fostering economic growth.
  2. General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) Type-II Quarters at Sarojini Nagar: These accommodations are designed to provide modern and comfortable housing for government employees.

Election Campaign Launch:
In the afternoon, PM Modi will address a public rally at Ramleela Ground in northwest Delhi, signaling the start of his campaign for the Delhi Assembly elections. This rally is expected to witness a large turnout, reflecting the BJP’s focus on the capital. On January 5, the campaign will continue with another rally at Japanese Park in Rohini, though the Election Commission has yet to announce the exact polling dates.

Traffic Advisory Details

To ensure minimal disruption, traffic restrictions will be implemented across key routes. The advisory highlights areas likely to experience congestion or regulated movement due to the Prime Minister’s itinerary.

Key Routes Affected:

  • Mall Road (Ring Road): Stretch between Hakikat Nagar Red Light and Azadpur Chowk.
  • GTK Road: Section from Azadpur Chowk to Gurudwara Nanak Pio.
  • Bhamashah Marg: Route connecting Model Town-1 to Nanak Pio.
  • Nahar Singh Marg: Span between Prembari Chowk and Inderlok Metro Station.
  • Gulab Singh Marg: Pathway from Satyawati College to Prerna Chowk.
  • Swami Narayan Marg: Link between Delhi Jal Board Red Light and Laxmi Bai College.
  • Mahatma Gandhi Marg: Road from Britannia Chowk to Azadpur.

Restriction Timings:

Traffic regulations will be enforced from 9 AM to 4 PM on January 3.

Guidelines for Commuters:

Residents and commuters traveling to areas such as Azadpur, Model Town, Kingsway Camp, Gujranwala Town, Derawal Nagar, Swabhiman Apartments, and Ramleela Ground are advised to plan their journeys in advance. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes, check real-time traffic updates, and allow extra time for their commute.

Public transport users should stay updated on possible route changes or delays. Emergency services, including ambulances, will receive priority on all affected routes.

The Delhi Traffic Police emphasized the importance of cooperation from citizens during these events. People are requested to follow traffic rules, heed instructions from traffic personnel, and stay informed through the official communication channels of the Delhi Traffic Police.
