Jaishankar Addresses Global Concerns Over Trump’s Victory, Reaffirms India’s Confidence in Diplomatic Relations

Mumbai, India: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar responded to global concerns about the fallout from Donald Trump’s recent victory in the US presidential election. While some countries have voiced apprehension, Jaishankar reassured that India is unaffected by the result, emphasizing the country’s steadfast and enduring relationship with the United States.

India’s Consistent Diplomacy with the US:

In his address at the Aditya Birla 25th Silver Jubilee Scholarship Programme in Mumbai, Jaishankar highlighted how Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cultivated strong diplomatic ties with various US presidents. He pointed out that PM Modi’s diplomatic approach has been consistent, building lasting relationships with Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and now Joe Biden.

Jaishankar remarked, “When PM Modi first visited Washington, Barack Obama was the President, followed by Donald Trump, and now Joe Biden. The way he fosters these connections is both natural and seamless. While many nations are apprehensive about the current state of the US, India is confident and undisturbed by the situation.”

PM Modi’s Early Congratulations to Trump:

Jaishankar also reflected on how Prime Minister Modi was one of the first world leaders to reach out to Donald Trump after his election win, underscoring India’s commitment to reinforcing its partnership with the US.
