New Delhi: On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually distributed over 71,000 appointment letters to newly recruited individuals as part of the Centre’s Rozgar Mela initiative. This initiative is designed to empower the youth through job creation and to encourage active participation in the country’s growth and development.

Addressing the newly appointed recruits, PM Modi congratulated them and their families, highlighting the significance of their hard work. He remarked, “I have met with the youth of India in Kuwait, and today I connect with the bright minds of our nation. Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for you, one where your dedication and hard work have led you to this moment.”

The Prime Minister emphasized the government’s efforts in harnessing the potential of India’s youth, saying, “Through initiatives like Rozgar Mela, we are fulfilling our vision of empowering the youth. For over ten years, the government has been working to provide job opportunities in government ministries, departments, and organizations. Today, over 71,000 youth have received their appointment letters.”

He also underscored the government’s commitment to a transparent recruitment process, stating, “In the last decade, our government has provided permanent government jobs to over 10 lakh youth—a significant milestone. Unlike previous administrations, we have ensured full transparency in these appointments. The youth selected through this process will contribute to the nation’s development with dedication and integrity.”

PM Modi reaffirmed the government’s resolve towards ‘Viksit Bharat 2047,’ acknowledging the role of India’s youth in driving progress. He pointed to policies such as Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, Startup India, and Digital India, which have been inspired by the ingenuity and leadership of young people.

“India is now the world’s fifth-largest economy and home to the third-largest startup ecosystem. Young entrepreneurs today have a robust ecosystem that supports them in launching their ventures. In sports, we are witnessing a transformation with modern training facilities and tournaments that foster confidence among our athletes. Across sectors, India is experiencing remarkable growth,” he said.

The Prime Minister also highlighted India’s progress in various fields, such as manufacturing, renewable energy, tourism, space exploration, organic farming, defense, and wellness. He credited the advancements made in education through the National Education Policy (NEP), Atal Tinkering Labs, and PM Shri Schools, which particularly benefit rural and marginalized students.

Paying tribute to the legacy of Chaudhary Charan Singh on ‘Kisan Diwas,’ PM Modi praised the government’s efforts to uplift farmers and foster rural development. He cited employment schemes such as Bima Suraksha, Lakhpati Didi, and Drone Didi, which aim to empower women and farmers in rural areas.

The Prime Minister also celebrated the increased participation of women in the Rozgar Mela, stating, “Many women have received their appointment letters today. I hope they will inspire others to follow suit. Schemes like Sukanya Samruddhi Yojana, Jan Dhan accounts, and Mudra Yojana are enabling women to pursue education and careers without financial constraints.”

Additionally, PM Modi noted that under the PM Awas Yojana, the highest number of homes have been allocated in the names of women.

The Rozgar Mela is being conducted at 45 locations nationwide, with recruits for various ministries and departments, including the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and Department of Financial Services. The initiative is in line with the Prime Minister’s commitment to fostering employment opportunities and ensuring that India’s youth have meaningful roles in nation-building and self-empowerment.
