PM Modi Receives Warm Welcome from Tribal Communities in Bihar’s Jamui
Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a vibrant traditional welcome from the tribal communities during his visit to Jamui, Bihar, today. Wearing a white kurta-churidar paired with an olive-green ethnic jacket, PM Modi walked along a red carpet to the rhythmic beats of dhol and bells. With folded hands, he greeted the dancers, who performed in colorful sarees, showcasing their cultural heritage.
During the visit, PM Modi interacted with locals and even tried his hand at playing an indigenous instrument. The Prime Minister was in Jamui to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, celebrated as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas. He paid floral tributes to the statue of the tribal leader, bowing in respect to honor his legacy.
A video from the event showed PM Modi enthusiastically playing the dhol, with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar standing by his side. The Prime Minister was also presented with an idol of Birsa Munda as a mark of respect.
To mark the occasion, PM Modi unveiled a commemorative coin and postage stamp. Speaking at the event, he expressed profound respect for the tribal population, praising their deep connection to nature and eco-friendly way of life.
