Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Passes Away at 92; State Funeral Scheduled

Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away on Thursday at the age of 92, leaving the nation in mourning. He had been admitted to the emergency department of AIIMS Delhi, though the cause of his hospitalization has not yet been disclosed.

In honor of his immense contributions to the nation, the Ministry of Home Affairs announced that Dr. Singh will be accorded a state funeral with full military honors. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Nigambodh Ghat in north Delhi, beginning at 11:45 a.m.

Dr. Singh’s mortal remains will be placed at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the day of the funeral. This will allow members of the public, party workers, and leaders to pay their final respects to the eminent statesman.
