Mysuru: A leopard was spotted on the Infosys campus in Mysuru early on Tuesday, prompting the Forest Department to launch a rescue operation.

According to Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Ravindra, Infosys security staff reported seeing the leopard around 3:30 a.m., and this was later confirmed by CCTV footage. In response, a team of 50 forest department personnel, including a veterinarian equipped to tranquilize the animal, began a combing operation. “We are fully prepared with all necessary equipment, including a net and cage, to safely capture and rescue the leopard,” Ravindra stated.

Range Forest Officer (RFO) Nadeem explained that the leopard was first spotted in the underground parking area. “We received the information around 4:00 a.m. and by 5:00 a.m., we had already reached the site to begin our operation. We are currently using a standard drone and will switch to a thermal drone at night,” he added.

The operation is being led by Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) I.B. Prabhu Gowda, with assistance from ACF Parameshwar, RFO Nadeem, Veterinarian Adarsh, and Veterinary Assistant Akram.

To ensure the safety of its employees, Infosys has instructed staff to work from home for the day, a decision confirmed by the company’s officials.
