In a distressing incident at a cement plant in Rajgangpur, Odisha, an iron coal hopper collapsed on Thursday, trapping several workers beneath the debris. The incident occurred while over a dozen laborers were working near the site, according to police reports.

Upon receiving the news, local police swiftly arrived at the scene and began efforts to clear the rubble. While no injuries or casualties have been confirmed yet, authorities remain concerned that some workers may be trapped under the debris, as the laborers typically work beneath the structure.

Rajgangpur Police Station Inspector-in-charge, Manaranjan Pradhan, stated, “The coal hopper collapsed suddenly, and we are at the location now, removing the debris with cranes. While no injuries have been reported, we fear that some workers may be trapped, as they generally work under the structure.”

However, the exact number of individuals trapped remains unclear, and both the police and the company are still assessing the situation.
