Former TDP MLA and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s younger brother, N. Ramamurthy Naidu, passed away on Saturday at a private super-speciality hospital in Hyderabad, the hospital confirmed. He was 72 years old.
Admitted to the hospital on November 14 following a cardiac arrest, Ramamurthy Naidu succumbed to health complications at 12:45 PM despite intensive medical efforts. The hospital bulletin stated that he had been suffering from “non-communicating normal pressure hydrocephalus” (a buildup of fluid in the brain) and post-VP shunt-related issues. He had also been on intermittent ventilatory support for respiratory distress.
Upon arrival at the hospital in a state of cardiac arrest, he was revived through cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) but remained critically unstable due to low blood pressure and other complications, leading to his demise.
Ramamurthy Naidu served as the MLA for the Chandragiri constituency in Andhra Pradesh from 1994 to 1999. His son, Nara Rohit, is a well-known actor in the Telugu film industry.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed his condolences on Ramamurthy Naidu’s passing and prayed for the departed soul.
