Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appreciation, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra has commended Anant Ambani, director of Reliance Industries Limited, for his efforts in establishing Vantara, a state-of-the-art wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center.

“Having personally visited Vantara, I fully resonate with PM @narendramodi’s sentiments. The dedication and expertise that Anant Ambani has brought together at Vantara is truly remarkable and cutting-edge. It is inspiring to see animals that have endured such hardships find a safe and nurturing sanctuary,” Mahindra shared on X.

Vantara: A Haven for Rescued Wildlife

Located in Gujarat, Vantara is an extensive conservation facility that shelters over 1.5 lakh rescued animals from more than 2,000 species. PM Modi, who recently inaugurated the Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre, lauded the initiative as a “vibrant example of India’s age-old tradition of protecting nature.”

Sharing his visit on X, PM Modi highlighted the rescue stories of elephants housed at Vantara, including one that suffered an acid attack, others blinded by their mahouts, and one that was hit by a speeding truck. Expressing concern over such cruelty, he urged people to prioritize kindness towards animals.

Advanced Care at the World’s Largest Elephant Hospital

Vantara is home to the world’s largest elephant hospital, equipped with cutting-edge technology such as a hydraulic surgical platform, specialized lifting equipment, and a custom-designed endoscope for stress-free procedures. The facility also features a hydrotherapy pond for arthritis relief, a hyperbaric oxygen chamber for wound healing, and a dedicated foot care center.

In addition to modern treatments, Ayurvedic therapies and acupuncture are used for managing chronic pain. The center ensures the humane treatment of elephants with the largest chain-free musth enclosure, providing a safe environment for bull elephants during their musth period.

To further support rescued animals, Vantara operates a fleet of 75 specialized elephant ambulances, making it the largest fleet of its kind in the world.

With praise from both PM Modi and Anand Mahindra, Vantara stands as a testament to India’s commitment to wildlife conservation and ethical animal care.
