Jaipur: Truck Collision Sparks Massive Fire, Claims 5 Lives, Injures 35

A massive fire erupted early this morning in Jaipur, Rajasthan, killing at least five people and injuring 35 others. The incident occurred around 5:30 am on Ajmer Road when a CNG tanker parked near a petrol pump caught fire after being struck by a truck. The collision triggered a chain reaction involving multiple vehicles, causing widespread destruction and casualties.

Authorities warn that the death toll may rise as several victims are in critical condition. Rescue operations are underway, and firefighters are working to extinguish the blaze, which engulfed several vehicles in the vicinity.

Dramatic visuals from the site reveal towering flames and thick black smoke visible from kilometers away. Many cars and trucks parked nearby were completely destroyed. Initial investigations suggest the truck involved in the collision was carrying chemicals, exacerbating the intensity of the fire.

Bhankrota Station House Officer (SHO) Manish Gupta informed PTI, “Several trucks have been consumed by the fire. We are still assessing the exact number of vehicles involved. Burn victims have been rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.”

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma visited the injured at SMS Hospital and expressed his condolences to the victims’ families. “This is a heart-wrenching tragedy. I’ve directed the administration to expedite rescue operations and ensure the injured receive the best medical care,” he shared on X (formerly Twitter).

The Chief Minister also assured that the local administration and emergency services are working tirelessly to manage the situation. He prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured and pledged support to the affected families.

This disaster comes shortly after a similar incident earlier this week in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district, where two truck drivers lost their lives when their vehicles collided and caught fire, temporarily halting highway traffic.
