The trailer launch of Pushpa 2: The Rule took place in a grand ceremony at Gandhi Maidan, Patna, on Sunday evening, drawing a massive crowd of over 10,000 excited fans. In response, the police were forced to use a “mild” lathi charge to control the crowd, as reported.
According to ANI, several fans climbed scaffolding and structures set up at the venue in a bid to get a glimpse of the stars. The escalating situation led security personnel to intervene with baton charges to maintain order among the growing crowd.
Footage from the event showed some attendees throwing objects, including slippers, at the police when they were stopped from advancing toward the stage or scaling the structures for a better view. Despite the disorder, authorities reassured the public that the situation was eventually brought under control. Rajeev Mishra, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Patna, confirmed that only a small group of people who attempted to breach the barricades were removed. He emphasized that adequate security measures had been put in place for the event. Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh also affirmed that everything was under control.
