With the much-anticipated release of Pushpa 2: The Rule fast approaching, Allu Arjun’s star power is set to dominate the box office. The sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise has already stirred excitement, and industry experts believe it could break box office records set by Jawan and KGF: Chapter 2.
Pushpa: The Rise was a massive hit, not only in its original Telugu version but also in Hindi, where it crossed Rs 100 crore nett in the North. This success was crucial in putting South Indian cinema on the national map and showcasing its pan-India potential.
Pushpa 2 Shatters Advance Booking Records
As of now, Pushpa 2 has generated a remarkable Rs 30.92 crore in advance bookings for its opening day, according to Sacnilk. With over 7 lakh tickets sold across various languages, the film is set to break multiple box office records.
Trade analyst Ramesh Bala remains optimistic, stating, “The advance booking numbers are already strong, especially for the Telugu and Hindi versions. As the release date approaches, we expect these figures to increase significantly, potentially three to four times higher than what they are now.”
The film is also gaining traction in Tamil and Malayalam, with positive trends in those markets.
Pushpa 2 Expected to Earn Rs 250-275 Crore on Day 1
Ramesh Bala predicts that Pushpa 2 could gross anywhere between Rs 250-275 crore globally on its opening day. The film is expected to perform strongly in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, with early morning screenings in Kerala starting at 4 am. Bala estimates that it could earn Rs 7-10 crore in Kerala and Rs 10-15 crore in Tamil Nadu on Day 1.
In the Telugu states, the film is expected to cross Rs 100 crore, bringing the total Indian gross to around Rs 200 crore. With overseas revenue factored in, Pushpa 2 has the potential to exceed Rs 250 crore in worldwide box office revenue on its opening day.
Outlook for the Sequel’s Box Office Performance
Both Ramesh Bala and Taran Adarsh believe that Pushpa 2 will surpass the records set by Jawan and KGF: Chapter 2. Taran Adarsh states, “Allu Arjun has built a strong fan base with his dubbed films. The success of Pushpa: The Rise propelled him to superstardom, and Pushpa 2 will solidify his status, possibly even surpassing RRR and KGF 2 in box office earnings.”
Bala suggests that Pushpa 2 will outperform Jawan in the North, with expectations that it could beat KGF 2 and even RRR in the Telugu market. With ticket price hikes in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the opening weekend, the film is poised for an outstanding start.
