Pushpa 2 Day 28 Worldwide Box Office Collection: Allu Arjun’s Film Surpasses Baahubali 2

Allu Arjun’s blockbuster film Pushpa 2: The Rule continues its triumphant run at the box office, setting new records nearly a month after its release. The film has now surpassed the worldwide gross of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which previously held the benchmark at Rs 1788 crore.

On New Year’s Day, Pushpa 2 earned Rs 13.15 crore at the domestic box office, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This brought its total domestic net collection to an impressive Rs 1184.65 crore. The Hindi version contributed Rs 9.5 crore, while the Telugu version added Rs 3.1 crore on the same day. The cumulative domestic earnings include Rs 774.65 crore from the Hindi version, Rs 330.53 crore from the Telugu version, Rs 57.65 crore from Tamil, Rs 14.14 crore from Malayalam, and Rs 7.6 crore from Kannada.

By Day 26, the makers of Pushpa 2 had officially announced that the film had collected Rs 1760 crore worldwide, just Rs 28 crore shy of Baahubali 2’s record. Over the next two days, Pushpa 2 added another Rs 20.85 crore domestically, ensuring it comfortably surpassed the iconic record.

Despite this achievement, Aamir Khan’s Dangal remains the highest-grossing Indian film of all time, with a staggering Rs 2070 crore global collection. Unlike Baahubali 2, which earned Rs 1030.42 crore in India and Rs 1788 crore globally, Dangal owes much of its success to its exceptional performance in the overseas market, especially in China.

With Pongal approaching, Pushpa 2 still has an open field at the box office. However, Shankar’s much-anticipated Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, is set to release on January 10. As a pan-Indian film, it is expected to pose competition to Pushpa 2’s ongoing dominance.

This unprecedented milestone cements Pushpa 2’s place in Indian cinema history as a record-breaking phenomenon, showcasing Allu Arjun’s star power and the film’s immense popularity across multiple languages and regions.
