The Diwali weekend box office witnessed an exciting face-off between Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again, both highly anticipated films that garnered significant attention. While Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 slightly trailed behind Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again in box office earnings, the director remains upbeat, emphasizing the positive reception his film has received.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the third installment in the popular horror-comedy series, stars Kartik Aaryan in the lead, following the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in 2022. The film also marks the return of Vidya Balan as the iconic Manjulika after 17 years, with Madhuri Dixit joining the cast to amplify the spooky element.
“The response to the film has been incredible. While I’m already diving into my next project, I’m taking a moment to savor the love Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is receiving,” says Bazmee during a break from a narration session. “The entire team is thrilled with the film’s success at the box office.”
In terms of box office numbers, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which released on November 1, earned ₹148.75 crore (nett) on its sixth day in India, with a worldwide total of ₹227 crore (nett), as reported by Sacnilk. Meanwhile, Singham Again earned ₹164.25 crore (nett) on its sixth day, reaching a global total of ₹247 crore (nett).
“Both films have done exceptionally well, and I’m happy with the results. The audience’s love for both films speaks volumes, and that’s all we can ask for,” says Anees, extending his congratulations to the Singham Again team. “I have many old friends involved in that film, and I’m genuinely happy for their success.”
Despite Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 trailing slightly behind Singham Again, Anees remains optimistic, viewing the difference as negligible. “It’s just a small difference. Whether a film makes ₹2 more or less, what matters is both films have done well and filled theatres,” he says.
Reflecting on the box office clash, Anees shares that he never had any concerns about the competition. “No filmmaker makes a movie thinking it won’t succeed. I’ve always believed in my project. We chose the release date, and everything else is out of our control. Ultimately, it’s the audience who decides,” he concludes.
