Superstar Amitabh Bachchan recently took a moment to remember the legendary figures India lost in 2024, sharing a heartfelt post on social media. The post honored businessman Ratan Tata, tabla maestro Zakir Hussain, former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, and filmmaker Shyam Benegal.

Reflecting on their legacies, Amitabh shared an artwork by cartoonist Satish Acharya that beautifully depicted these four icons in the afterlife, continuing to pursue their passions. Zakir Hussain is shown immersed in music, playing his tabla; Shyam Benegal is seen behind the camera capturing moments; Ratan Tata is shown feeding dogs and spreading joy, while Dr. Manmohan Singh is portrayed as committed to nation-building.

The caption on the image read, “A Parsi, a Muslim, a Sikh and a Hindu passed away in 2024, and the whole nation mourned and remembered them only as Indians,” emphasizing the unity that transcended religious boundaries.

Amitabh added, “The picture says it all,” reinforcing the message of togetherness and respect for these icons, irrespective of their backgrounds.

Details about their passing include the death of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on December 26, 2024, at the age of 92, following a decline in his health. Filmmaker Shyam Benegal passed away on December 23, aged 90, after battling chronic kidney disease. Business magnate Ratan Tata died on October 10 at 86, and tabla maestro Zakir Hussain passed away in December at 73 due to complications from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a lung disease.

Amitabh is currently shooting for Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 and recently appeared in Vettaiyan alongside Rajinikanth, marking their reunion on screen after three decades. The film was released on October 10. Looking ahead, Amitabh will star in Section 84, a courtroom drama directed by Ribhu Dasgupta.
