Amid divorce rumors, Abhishek Bachchan expressed gratitude to his wife, Aishwarya Rai, for being a devoted mother and supporting his film career. Abhishek shared his appreciation for Aishwarya’s sacrifices.
“I’m very fortunate to go out and make movies, knowing Aishwarya is home with Aaradhya. I thank her immensely for that. Children don’t see parents in third person—they see you as their mom or dad,” he said.
Reflecting on his own childhood, Abhishek noted he never felt his parents’ absence despite Amitabh Bachchan’s peak career in the 1970s. Jaya Bachchan had taken a break from acting after his birth in 1976. “We never felt the void of dad being away. At the end of the day, after work, you come home,” he added.
Abhishek and Aishwarya’s Journey
The couple married in 2007 and welcomed their daughter Aaradhya in 2011, who recently turned 13. While Aishwarya took a four-year break after Aaradhya’s birth, she returned to films with Jazbaa (2015) and has since worked selectively, including Sarbjit (2016), Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016), and the Ponniyin Selvan series (2022-23).
Abhishek, meanwhile, has a busy slate with three upcoming projects: Be Happy, a dance film by Remo D’Souza; Housefull 5, an ensemble comedy by Tarun Mansukhani; and King, a crime thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh.
