A tragic incident in Chennai on Tuesday night resulted in the untimely death of Pradeep Kumar, a video journalist, after his motorcycle was struck by a speeding BMW car.

Kumar, who was a cameraperson for a prominent Telugu news channel and worked part-time as a Rapido driver in Pondy Bazaar, met with the fatal accident on the Maduravoyal-Tambaram elevated bypass.

The collision occurred when Kumar was hit by the BMW, whose driver immediately fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle. Observant passersby who noticed the abandoned car quickly informed the police. Upon their arrival, authorities discovered Kumar’s severely damaged motorcycle, but there was no sign of him at the scene of impact.

Further investigation revealed that Kumar’s body was found about 100 meters away from the point of collision, on the lower level of the elevated highway. Officials suspect that the force of the crash threw Kumar off his motorcycle, leading to a deadly fall from the elevated road.

The police have launched an intensive manhunt for the driver of the BMW and are conducting a thorough investigation to piece together the events leading to the tragic accident. Authorities are determined to bring the responsible individual to justice and ensure that the cause of the crash is fully understood.
