A video journalist was tragically killed in Chennai on Tuesday night after his motorcycle was struck by a speeding BMW car.

The victim, identified as Pradeep Kumar, a cameraperson for a popular Telugu news channel and part-time Rapido driver from Pondy Bazaar, died in the accident on the Maduravoyal-Tambaram elevated bypass.

Kumar was hit by the BMW, and the car’s driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle. Commuters who noticed the abandoned car alerted the police, who arrived at the location and discovered Kumar’s damaged motorcycle.

However, Kumar’s body was found approximately 100 meters from the site of the collision, on the lower level of the highway. Police believe the impact of the crash threw Kumar off his bike, causing him to fall from the elevated highway, leading to his death.

Authorities are currently searching for the driver of the luxury car, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
