26-Year-Old Delhi Man Stabbed to Death Over Financial Dispute

A 26-year-old man, Himanshu, was brutally stabbed to death in his apartment in Delhi’s Narela area on Friday, allegedly over a financial dispute. Himanshu had been living with his friend, Sumit Kaushik, for the past four months when the incident occurred, police officials said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Ravi, one of the accused, had borrowed ₹45,000 from Sumit but failed to repay it. Following the non-payment, Himanshu reportedly visited Ravi’s house in Safiyabad and threatened his family with “consequences” if the money wasn’t returned.

Later that day, around 6 pm, Ravi and three accomplices—Sahil (24), Ashish (26), and Akshay Khatri—confronted Himanshu at his residence and fatally stabbed him before fleeing the scene. A PCR call reporting the attack was received at 6:28 pm, police confirmed.

Three suspects—Ravi, Sahil, and Ashish—have been arrested, while the fourth accused, Akshay, remains on the run. A murder case has been registered, and police are questioning the detained suspects to uncover further details.

Reacting to the incident, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chief Arvind Kejriwal criticized the BJP-led Central government over the rising crime rate in the national capital. “Another painful murder. Delhi is bleeding, and the BJP government at the Centre is sitting idle. How long will the people of Delhi tolerate such conditions?” he posted on X.

The investigation into the case is ongoing, with efforts underway to apprehend the fourth accused and determine the exact sequence of events.
