Vistara’s Last Flight Marks the Start of Its Merger with Air India: Key Changes for Club Vistara, CV Points, and Co-branded Credit Cards

On November 11, 2024, Vistara completed its final flight before officially merging with Air India, with the transition set to take place the following day. This merger brings major updates to the Club Vistara program, CV Points system, and co-branded credit cards, leaving many travelers wondering how their points, membership benefits, and rewards will be impacted.

A New Era for Frequent Flyers

The Vistara-Air India merger represents a significant change for frequent flyers. Beginning on November 12, Club Vistara members will be transferred into Air India’s Flying Returns program. As part of this transition, members will receive new Flying Returns IDs, with all their membership details seamlessly transferred.

Existing Flying Returns account holders will be able to transfer their Club Vistara data, while those who do not have a Flying Returns account will have one created automatically using their Club Vistara information.

CV Points Conversion and Continued Rewards

Club Vistara (CV) points will be converted into Flying Returns points at a 1:1 ratio, including any points set to expire in September and October 2024. These points will now be valid for at least one year after the merger. Afterward, members will continue to earn Flying Returns points and retain their current tier status for up to one year.

Additionally, as Air India is a member of the Star Alliance, former Vistara members will have access to a broader range of reward redemption options, unlocking more opportunities for travel with over 20 international airline partners.

Co-branded Credit Cards: Continued Benefits with New Perks

Vistara co-branded credit cardholders will retain their current benefits throughout the integration period. Cards will remain valid until March 31, 2026, with renewals required by March 31, 2025. Starting November 12, 2024, cardholders will also enjoy additional perks, such as complimentary ticket vouchers and One Class Upgrade Vouchers, alongside their existing benefits. Tier privileges will be honored for up to one year post-merger.

While this merger introduces changes, it also offers exciting new opportunities, enhancing the rewards program while preserving many of the familiar perks for loyal members.
