February 14, 2025A Grand Vision with Uneven Execution Laxman Utekar’s Chhaava brings the story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj to life with an impressive scale, intense performances, and high production values. However, despite its visual grandeur, the film falters in its storytelling, struggling to create an emotional connection in the first half. The Story & Setting Based on Shivaji Sawant’s novel Chhaava, the film traces the journey of Sambhaji Maharaj (Vicky Kaushal), the second Chhatrapati of the Maratha Empire, as he resists the expansionist ambitions of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb (Akshaye Khanna). The narrative revolves around their intense rivalry, with Aurangzeb vowing to reclaim his crown only after defeating Sambhaji. While the historical backdrop is rich, the screenplay takes time to build momentum, delaying the emotional impact. Strengths & Weaknesses The first half of Chhaava is visually stunning but emotionally hollow. Battles rage, war cries echo, and the cinematography captures grand frames, yet the connection with the characters feels distant. The film truly comes alive only in the latter half, where the stakes become clearer, and the confrontations gain depth. Vicky Kaushal is the heart of Chhaava, delivering a performance brimming with intensity and conviction. His transformation into Sambhaji Maharaj is commendable, especially in the film’s final hour. Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb is a standout, exuding menace with a controlled yet powerful presence. His cold, calculating demeanor adds weight to the film. Among the supporting cast, Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai gets limited screen time but performs well. Diana Penty’s Zeenat lacks the needed edge, and Divya Dutta’s Soyrabai, though impactful, is underutilized. Viineet Kumar Singh as Kavi Kalash shines in his limited role, with poetic dialogues that add some much-needed depth. Technical Aspects The film boasts impressive production design and detailed period costumes. The prosthetic work on Akshaye Khanna enhances his character’s aged, war-worn appearance. However, Chhaava leans too much on prolonged action sequences, often overshadowing moments of strategic tension that could have elevated the storytelling. AR Rahman’s music surprisingly does not leave a lasting impact, though the background score helps maintain the film’s dramatic tone. Editing remains a major flaw, as certain sequences feel unnecessarily stretched. Final Verdict Chhaava had the potential to be a gripping historical epic but stumbles due to uneven pacing and an over-reliance on spectacle over substance. The film shines in its performances, particularly through Vicky Kaushal and Akshaye Khanna, but falls short in creating an immersive, emotionally engaging experience. While it delivers some powerful moments, it ultimately remains a missed opportunity to craft a truly unforgettable biopic.
February 14, 2025February 14, 2019, marks a grim chapter in India’s history as a deadly terror attack in Pulwama claimed the lives of 40 CRPF personnel. The attack, carried out by Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), sent shockwaves across the nation and escalated tensions between India and Pakistan. As the country observes the sixth anniversary of the Pulwama attack, here’s a detailed look at the events of that day and India’s firm response. The Pulwama Attack: A Devastating Blow On the afternoon of February 14, 2019, a convoy of over 2,000 CRPF personnel was moving along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. A suicide bomber, Adil Ahmad Dar, rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into one of the buses, triggering a powerful blast. The explosion was so severe that it instantly killed 40 CRPF personnel, making it one of the deadliest attacks on Indian security forces in recent history. Investigation Uncovers a Larger Conspiracy Following the attack, a thorough investigation led by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) revealed a well-planned operation by JeM. Key findings included: The attack was orchestrated by Pakistani handlers, with training conducted in Afghanistan. The suicide bomber’s car was packed with nearly 200 kg of high-intensity explosives, including RDX and ammonium nitrate. JeM operatives, including Masood Azhar, Rouf Asgar, and Ammar Alvi, were identified as the masterminds behind the attack. Intelligence sources suggested that the attack had been planned for over two years. India’s Retaliation: Balakot Airstrikes In response to the Pulwama attack, India launched a bold military operation. On February 26, 2019, the Indian Air Force (IAF) conducted precision airstrikes deep inside Pakistan, targeting JeM’s largest terror camp in Balakot. Key Highlights of the Balakot Airstrikes: Multiple Mirage 2000 fighter jets successfully destroyed JeM’s training facility. A significant number of terrorists and their trainers were eliminated. The operation was a strategic message that India would not tolerate cross-border terrorism. The airstrikes led to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, culminating in aerial dogfights on February 27, 2019. The Aftermath and Continued Vigilance The Pulwama attack reshaped India’s counterterrorism policies. The government intensified diplomatic pressure on Pakistan, leading to JeM’s chief Masood Azhar being designated a global terrorist by the UN in 2019. Security forces also strengthened counterinsurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir, preventing further attacks. Remembering the Bravehearts The sacrifice of the 40 CRPF personnel in Pulwama remains etched in the nation’s memory. Their courage and commitment to safeguarding the country inspire India’s unwavering fight against terrorism. On this anniversary, India stands united in honoring their legacy and reaffirming its resolve to counter any threat to national security.
February 14, 2025Four days after N Biren Singh stepped down as Chief Minister, the Centre on Thursday imposed President’s Rule in Manipur and placed the state assembly under suspended animation. This decision marks a new phase for the violence-hit state, which has been grappling with ethnic unrest since May 2023. President Droupadi Murmu approved the move following a report from Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla. The announcement came shortly after both Houses of Parliament adjourned, with sessions set to resume on March 10 for the Budget session’s second phase. Political Turmoil and the Fall of BJP-Led Government The BJP-led government collapsed on February 9, following Singh’s resignation. His decision came after high-level discussions in New Delhi with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president J P Nadda. Governor Bhalla, upon accepting Singh’s resignation, revoked the assembly session scheduled for February 10, declaring an earlier summoning order “null and void.” The Congress had planned to introduce a no-confidence motion against Singh’s government in the now-canceled session. With 60 seats in the Manipur Assembly (one vacant due to the death of NPP MLA N Kayisii), the BJP held 37, while allies included NPP (6 MLAs) and NPF (5 MLAs). The opposition comprised Congress (5 MLAs), Kuki People’s Alliance (2 MLAs), JD(U) (1 MLA), and 3 independents. Following the outbreak of violence, both the NPP and KPA withdrew support from the government, although two NPP legislators continued backing Singh. Centre’s Justification for President’s Rule In a notification issued Thursday evening, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan cited Article 356 of the Constitution, stating that the Centre was “satisfied that a situation has arisen in which the Government of that State cannot be carried on in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution.” The proclamation vested all executive powers of the state government and the Governor in the President, while legislative powers now rest with Parliament. Failure to Reach Consensus on New Leadership The imposition of President’s Rule followed three days of meetings in Imphal led by BJP’s Northeast coordinator Sambit Patra. BJP MLAs and NDA allies, including the Naga People’s Front and the National People’s Party, were involved in discussions to finalize a new Chief Minister. However, failure to reach a consensus accelerated the decision to impose central rule. Sources indicated that some BJP legislators preferred a temporary period of President’s Rule to facilitate a crackdown on armed groups in both the hills and the valley before forming a new government. Mixed Reactions from Political Groups The Congress, which had opposed President’s Rule, held the BJP responsible for the state’s deteriorating condition. Manipur Congress President K. Meghachandra Singh stated, “This is an admission of total failure under N Biren Singh. The state has suffered immensely in the last 20 months, and now, instead of respecting the people’s mandate, the BJP has chosen central rule.” On the other hand, Kuki-Zo groups, which had been demanding President’s Rule, welcomed the move. “Rather than just replacing the Chief Minister, President’s Rule gives hope for a lasting solution. The Kuki-Zo community has lost trust in Meitei leadership, and this step creates a pathway for addressing the violence and achieving a political resolution,” said Ginza Vualzong, spokesperson for the Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum (ITLF). Security Measures and Future Prospects Ahead of the announcement, security agencies had devised a plan to prevent unrest, closely monitoring individuals who could incite violence. The enforcement of President’s Rule also signals a possible crackdown on insurgent groups operating in different regions of Manipur. With the state now under central administration, the next steps will depend on how the BJP navigates its internal leadership crisis and whether fresh elections or a new government formation will be considered in the coming months.
February 14, 2025Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump held high-level bilateral discussions at the White House on Thursday, focusing on enhancing strategic cooperation between the two nations. Their meeting came amid Trump’s sharp remarks on India’s trade policies and his push for reciprocal tariffs on countries imposing duties on US goods. Despite trade tensions, the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening ties, with Modi emphasizing plans to double Indo-US trade by 2030. Following their discussions, the Indian Prime Minister called the meeting “excellent,” highlighting its significance in strengthening relations. Key Highlights from the Meeting Tahawwur Rana’s Extradition Approved President Trump confirmed that his administration has approved the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, a key conspirator in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, to India. Rana, a Canadian citizen of Pakistani origin, has been held in a Los Angeles detention center due to his close links with David Coleman Headley, one of the masterminds behind the attacks. Trump described Rana as a “very dangerous” individual and stressed the importance of delivering justice. Enhanced Defence Collaboration India and the US are set to expand their defence partnership, with Trump announcing plans to provide India with advanced military equipment, including F-35 stealth fighter jets. The deal, worth billions of dollars, reflects growing defence cooperation between the two nations. Both leaders also discussed strengthening collaborations in critical technology, intelligence sharing, and regional security. Major Energy Trade Agreement Modi and Trump finalized an agreement to make the US a top oil and gas supplier to India, reducing New Delhi’s reliance on other energy sources. Trump noted that India’s high tariffs on American goods, which sometimes exceed 70%, have been a long-standing trade issue. However, Modi assured reductions in certain tariffs, paving the way for increased US exports to India. During a joint press conference, Trump acknowledged Modi’s willingness to address trade imbalances, stating, “Prime Minister Modi, in good faith, has committed to easing tariffs, and we look forward to a more balanced trade partnership.” Joint Commitment to Combat Terrorism Both leaders underscored their shared commitment to eradicating terrorism. Modi expressed gratitude to Trump for approving Rana’s extradition and emphasized India’s strong stance against cross-border terrorism. “India and the US stand united in the fight against terrorism,” Modi stated. “We will take decisive action to eliminate threats, and I deeply appreciate President Trump’s commitment to ensuring justice for the 2008 Mumbai attacks.” Tariff Negotiations and Trade Policy Trade remained a central topic, with Trump reiterating concerns over India’s high tariffs on American goods. “India has been one of the toughest tariff nations in the world, making it difficult for US businesses to compete,” he said. Trump also outlined his administration’s new approach, saying, “We will match whatever tariffs other nations impose on us. If they charge us, we charge them.” Strengthening Future Ties Despite differences over trade, the Modi-Trump meeting reinforced the strategic importance of Indo-US relations. With agreements on defence, energy, and counterterrorism, both nations are poised to deepen their partnership in the years ahead.
February 13, 2025The Indian rupee saw its biggest single-day surge in nearly two years, surprising traders. However, analysts warn that the rally may not last as monetary easing and global market fluctuations put renewed pressure on the currency. According to DBS Bank, the rupee could weaken to 88.8 per US dollar by mid-2025, while IDFC First Bank forecasts a decline to 89.50 by December. After its sharp rise on Tuesday, the rupee closed at 86.89 on Wednesday, marking a shift from its previously stable trajectory over the past two years. RBI’s Intervention and Policy Shifts Newly appointed Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Sanjay Malhotra now faces the challenge of managing increased volatility in the forex market. Reports suggest the central bank intervened significantly this week, with estimates indicating nearly $11 billion in dollar sales over two days to curb speculation. Despite this, analysts believe RBI’s large-scale support won’t continue indefinitely, as the central bank shifts its focus toward policy easing and boosting liquidity. With inflation hitting a five-month low in January, expectations of further interest rate cuts have strengthened. Rupee’s Outlook Amid Global Economic Trends Jeff Ng, head of Asia macro strategy at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp, remains cautious about the rupee’s short-term performance. He noted that rate cuts and a more flexible approach to currency movements could allow for some depreciation in the rupee over the next three to six months. The rupee’s sudden rally on Tuesday also fueled speculation about a strategic move by Indian authorities ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to the US. A stronger rupee could help mitigate concerns over potential trade tariffs under a new US administration. However, foreign investors have been pulling out of Indian equities, with nearly $10 billion exiting this year due to weaker economic growth and corporate earnings. The US Federal Reserve’s slower-than-expected rate cuts have also strengthened the dollar, adding further pressure on emerging market currencies like the rupee. Limited Scope for RBI Intervention Market data suggests that traders are not actively betting on a sharp appreciation of the rupee, with risk reversals showing an easing premium for protection against a stronger dollar. Some investors have already capitalized on the rupee’s gains, but broader market sentiment still leans towards further depreciation. Adding to the complexity, India’s tight liquidity conditions may limit the RBI’s ability to intervene aggressively in forex markets. Increasing dollar sales to stabilize the rupee could further strain liquidity, prompting the central bank to adopt a more measured approach. “Every policy decision has trade-offs, and one major downside of intervention is liquidity tightening,” said Michael Wan, senior currency analyst at MUFG Bank. “Ultimately, the RBI may have to let the rupee find a weaker equilibrium over time.” As global economic uncertainties persist, the rupee’s trajectory will depend on RBI’s policy decisions, foreign investor sentiment, and the broader movement of the US dollar.
February 13, 2025New Delhi: India wrapped up a dominant 3-0 series sweep against England with a commanding 142-run victory in the third and final ODI on Wednesday, marking a perfect conclusion to their Champions Trophy preparations. Shubman Gill stole the show with a stunning 112 off 102 balls, his seventh ODI century, while Virat Kohli (52) and Shreyas Iyer (78) played crucial supporting roles. Their efforts powered India to a formidable 356 after being invited to bat first. The Indian bowlers then dismantled England’s batting lineup, bowling them out for 214 in just 34.2 overs. This was India’s second-largest ODI victory over England in terms of runs. England Collapse Against Spin After Promising Start Despite a steady start by England openers Ben Duckett (34) and Phil Salt (24), the visitors once again struggled against spin. The slower pitch made run-scoring difficult as the innings progressed. Duckett looked aggressive early on, smashing four consecutive boundaries off Arshdeep Singh (2/33) in the fifth over. However, his attempt to continue the attack backfired when he mistimed a slower knuckle ball, gifting an easy catch to Rohit Sharma at mid-off. Arshdeep then sent Salt back with a well-disguised slower bouncer, caught by Axar Patel. Tom Banton, making his first ODI appearance against India, impressed with his innovative strokeplay, executing two reverse sweeps, but managed only 38 from 41 balls. Joe Root (24) fell victim to Axar Patel (2/22) after inside-edging onto his stumps. Harshit Rana (2/31) further dented England’s chase, dismissing Harry Brook (19) and captain Jos Buttler (6) in quick succession. At 84/2 after 10 overs, England seemed competitive, but the consistent fall of wickets prevented them from making any serious inroads into India’s total. Gill’s Century Leads India’s Batting Charge India’s batting was spearheaded by Shubman Gill, who displayed excellent composure and shot selection on his way to a fluent 112 off 104 balls, decorated with 14 boundaries and three sixes. He stitched together crucial century stands with Kohli and Iyer, ensuring India posted a massive total. With this knock, Gill became the only Indian batter to score centuries across all formats at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, including an IPL hundred. His innings came to an end when he was bowled by Adil Rashid (4/64). Kohli, after a watchful start, played some stylish strokes, including a series of boundaries off Mark Wood and Saqib Mahmood. He reached his 73rd ODI half-century but struggled against Rashid, who dismissed him for the fifth time in ODIs. Kohli, still 37 runs shy of 14,000 ODI runs, will likely reach the milestone in the upcoming Champions Trophy. Earlier, captain Rohit Sharma (1) fell cheaply, edging Wood to Salt behind the stumps, while Iyer was dismissed in an unfortunate manner, chasing a delivery down the leg side off Rashid. With a clean sweep over England, India head into the Champions Trophy with strong momentum, backed by a well-rounded performance in all departments.
February 13, 2025Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s much-anticipated historical drama, Chhaava, is set for a grand theatrical release on February 14. Based on the Marathi novel of the same name by Shivaji Sawant, the film will depict the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film stars Vicky Kaushal in the titular role, while Akshaye Khanna portrays the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The film also features Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, and Diana Penty in pivotal roles. Bringing History to the Silver Screen Laxman Utekar’s inspiration to make Chhaava came during the COVID-19 pandemic when he delved into the history of Sambhaji Maharaj. Speaking about the film, he told India Today, “Everyone knows about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, but very few are aware of the extraordinary courage and sacrifices of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. His bravery deserves recognition, and I wanted to bring his story to life on the big screen.” Who Was Sambhaji Maharaj? Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, was the second ruler of the Maratha Empire after his father’s passing. He ascended the throne in 1681 and ruled until 1689, earning a formidable reputation for his military prowess and unwavering dedication to his kingdom. His reign was marked by intense conflicts with the Mughal Empire under Aurangzeb, as well as battles against the Siddi of Janjira, the Wadiyars of Mysore, and the Portuguese. One of his most notable campaigns was the attack on Burhanpur, a crucial Mughal stronghold in present-day Madhya Pradesh, aimed at halting Aurangzeb’s ambitions in the Deccan. Between 1682 and 1688, the Marathas and Mughals engaged in multiple battles, with Sambhaji Maharaj fiercely defending his territory. In 1685, as the conflict escalated, the Mughals gained control over some Maratha strongholds. However, Sambhaji continued to resist Aurangzeb’s forces with unyielding determination. The Tragic End and Legacy In 1689, Aurangzeb captured Sambhaji Maharaj through deceit and subjected him to brutal torture for days. Despite relentless attempts to break his spirit, Sambhaji refused to surrender or convert to Islam. His unwavering defiance led to his execution on March 11, 1689. His sacrifice immortalized him as a symbol of courage, patriotism, and devotion to his faith and land. Maharashtra continues to revere Sambhaji Maharaj for his resilience and bravery, celebrating him as a martyr who chose death over betraying his beliefs. A Cinematic Tribute to a Maratha Hero Director Laxman Utekar, known for films like Luka Chuppi, Mimi, and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, aims to present Sambhaji Maharaj’s story with authenticity and grandeur. Backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, Chhaava promises to be a compelling retelling of a forgotten chapter in Indian history. With Vicky Kaushal stepping into the shoes of one of the most valiant warriors of the Maratha Empire, Chhaava is expected to leave a lasting impact on audiences, bringing the extraordinary saga of Sambhaji Maharaj to the forefront.

Bharath JantaOctober 28, 2024YouTube news channels often transform rumors and assumptions into “news” by using several strategies designed to maximize viewer engagement, even at the expense of accuracy. These methods keep audiences returning, but they often blur the lines between fact and fiction. Here are some common ways speculation is turned into content: Clickbait Titles and Thumbnails: Channels often use eye-catching, sensational titles and thumbnails that imply they have “exclusive” or “breaking” information. This approach attracts viewers before the content has been fully verified. Suggestive Language and Uncertain Phrasing: Creators frequently use terms like “it seems,” “sources say,” or “could indicate,” which suggest possibilities without confirming facts. This generates intrigue and makes the content feel newsworthy, even though it may not be based on solid evidence. Blending Facts with Speculation: Some channels combine verified information with rumors, giving the latter a sense of legitimacy. This keeps the narrative engaging while avoiding full responsibility for inaccuracies. Anonymous Sources: Channels often cite anonymous sources to justify the spread of unconfirmed details, presenting speculation as breaking news from trusted insiders, even though the information can’t be verified. User-Driven Content and Viewer Comments: Many channels monitor viewer comments to identify trending rumors or ideas, then turn these into new content. While this helps sustain engagement, it often lacks a factual basis. Frequent Updates on Developing Stories: Channels keep viewers hooked by releasing multiple updates on a story, even if these updates add little new information. This keeps the cycle of speculation going, generating more views despite the lack of substantial content. These techniques are effective in driving engagement, but they often prioritize sensationalism over accuracy, which raises ethical concerns about the integrity of the information shared on these platforms. How Misinformation Is Spread and Time Is Wasted The strategies used by YouTube news channels to turn rumors into “news” not only waste viewers’ time but also contribute to the spread of misinformation. This can have a negative impact on audiences and public discourse in several ways: 1. Time Wasting Through Sensationalism Clickbait Traps: Viewers often click on videos with sensational titles, expecting important or groundbreaking information, only to find the content lacks substance or is based on speculation. This results in wasted time that could have been spent on more meaningful or informative content. Endless “Developing Story” Updates: Channels may post updates on stories that offer little new information, keeping viewers in a loop of repetitive content. This creates a sense of urgency around trivial matters, diverting attention from more important, verified news. Example: A viewer might watch several updates on a rumored product launch, only to discover that each video recycles the same unverified information. The time spent on these videos ultimately leads to no new insights. 2. Reinforcement of False Beliefs and Misinformation Speculation Posing as Fact: Phrases like “sources say” or “it seems likely” often lead viewers to believe that unverified claims are true, especially if they lack the critical thinking skills to distinguish fact from speculation. Echo Chambers and Confirmation Bias: YouTube’s algorithm promotes content that aligns with viewers’ past interests, increasing the likelihood that misinformation will spread within like-minded communities. This creates echo chambers that reinforce unproven ideas. Example: Misinformation about health, politics, or scientific developments can spread rapidly, leading viewers to believe they are informed when they are, in fact, misled. This is particularly dangerous in areas like medical misinformation, where incorrect assumptions can lead to harmful decisions. 3. Erosion of Trust in Legitimate News Blurring Fact and Fiction: The mixing of verified facts with speculative content makes it harder for viewers to differentiate between legitimate news and rumors. This erodes the credibility of reputable news sources, causing audiences to question the accuracy of all information. Desensitization to Important Issues: When speculative content is presented as urgent or breaking, viewers become desensitized to actual news. The constant flow of pseudo-news makes it harder to recognize important events, contributing to a general apathy toward significant stories. Example: Channels that continuously push alarmist, unverified stories about public figures or policies may lead viewers to mistrust factual reports, undermining informed public discussion. 4. Financial Incentives for Channels but Disempowerment for Viewers Monetization Encourages Sensationalism: YouTube’s monetization model rewards creators based on views and watch time, creating a financial incentive to produce attention-grabbing content. Rumor-based videos generate more engagement, which translates to higher revenue, even if the content is inaccurate. Cognitive Overload for Viewers: Consuming large amounts of unreliable content can overwhelm viewers, leaving them confused and less focused on meaningful, factual information. This cognitive overload also diminishes their ability to make informed decisions. 5. Impact on Society and Public Discourse Misinformation Amplified Across Platforms: Once rumors are spread on YouTube, they often spill over into social media and even mainstream news. This amplification distorts public opinion and can influence important decisions, even though the underlying information is often false. Example: Speculative content about elections can fuel distrust in democratic processes. Channels that speculate about vote tampering or misconduct create a narrative that can influence how people perceive and engage with political events, even when there’s no evidence to support these claims. In conclusion, while YouTube channels benefit from engagement-driven content, the cost to viewers is significant. These channels contribute to the spread of misinformation, waste viewers’ time, erode trust in legitimate news sources, and distort the understanding of crucial issues. By prioritizing rumors over facts, they create an environment where truth is sacrificed for profit, making it difficult for audiences to distinguish reliable news from speculative noise.

SravaniFebruary 3, 2025A 32-year-old woman from Ghur Samsapur village, Bareilly, allegedly choked a man to death after enduring continuous blackmail and sexual abuse. The incident occurred on January 29, when the woman, fed up with the harassment, decided to take drastic action. The woman explained to the police that the deceased, Iqbal, a zari-zardozi artisan, often visited her village to sell clothes, and they became acquainted. After exchanging numbers, Iqbal began making unwanted advances. On one occasion, he invited her to his home under the guise of selling clothes, only to attempt to force himself on her. When she threatened to tell her husband, Iqbal blackmailed her, claiming to have recorded their conversations and threatening to destroy her family. Despite the threats, the woman endured Iqbal’s demands to maintain the peace for the sake of her children. However, by January 29, she had reached her breaking point. The woman said she secretly drugged her husband with sedatives to make him fall asleep before meeting Iqbal later that evening. Upon arriving at Iqbal’s house, the woman said he again attempted to get intimate with her. When he tried to assault her, she seized the opportunity to overpower him. She restrained him, choking him until he stopped breathing. After confirming his death, she moved his body to the stairs and returned home.
