April 30, 2025As the government deliberates its next move following the Pahalgam terror attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a high-level meeting with top military leaders at his residence in New Delhi on Tuesday. During the session, sources indicated that the Prime Minister assured the armed forces of complete operational autonomy — empowering them to independently determine the nature, targets, and timing of any retaliatory action. Reaffirming his trust in the armed forces, Modi reportedly stated that the nation is committed to delivering a decisive blow to terrorism and fully supports the military’s capabilities to execute that mission. The strategic meeting at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, saw the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the chiefs of the Army, Air Force, and Navy. As part of the ongoing government response, the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) is set to meet again on Wednesday. This will be its second meeting since the April 23 attack, which claimed 26 lives. The CCS, which includes the Prime Minister, Defence, Home, Finance, and External Affairs Ministers, had earlier taken sweeping actions following the assault. These included suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, halving diplomatic staff strength in Pakistan, expelling top Pakistani officials, revoking visas, and shutting down operations at the Attari-Wagah border. India also pulled back its diplomatic staff from Islamabad. Home Minister Amit Shah has since directed all Indian states to ensure that no Pakistani national overstays their permitted duration in the country. Reinforcing India’s hardline stance, PM Modi pledged strong retribution, declaring that every terrorist and their sponsors will be hunted down and held accountable. He vowed to pursue them relentlessly, wherever they may be. In parallel developments on Tuesday, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan chaired a separate security review with senior officials. This meeting included heads of the Border Security Force, National Security Guard, and Assam Rifles, as well as top officers from other paramilitary and security agencies, underlining the government’s comprehensive approach to tackling cross-border terrorism.
April 29, 2025Vaibhav Suryavanshi, just 14 years old, carved his name into IPL history with a jaw-dropping century off only 35 balls on a thrilling evening at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium. His explosive innings powered Rajasthan Royals (RR) to a commanding eight-wicket victory, chasing down a steep target of 210 in just 15.5 overs — making it the quickest 200+ run chase in the league’s history. Suryavanshi’s unbeaten 101 featured an onslaught of 11 sixes and 7 boundaries, making him the youngest player ever to hit a century in the tournament at just 14 years and 32 days. In doing so, he broke the previous youngest-centurion records held by Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant, and Devdutt Padikkal. His effort didn’t just shatter age records — it also set a new benchmark for Indian batters in the IPL. He overtook Yusuf Pathan’s record for the fastest IPL century by an Indian (previously 37 balls), and placed second overall, behind only Chris Gayle’s blistering 30-ball ton. After the match, a visibly thrilled but humble Suryavanshi credited his preparation and mindset for the achievement. “This is a dream come true — my first hundred in the IPL and only my third match. I focus on the ball, keep things simple, and learn a lot from Jaiswal while batting. There’s no fear, just intent,” he said. His sensational knock sparked a viral storm online, with fans, analysts, and cricket legends praising the teen prodigy. From praise to playful memes, social media lit up as cricket welcomed a fresh face ready to challenge the big names — with bat in hand and no hesitation.
April 28, 2025Tensions continue to simmer along the Line of Control (LoC) as Pakistan violated the ceasefire agreement for the fourth day in a row. According to an official statement from the Indian Army, on the night of April 27-28, 2025, Pakistani forces opened unprovoked small arms fire targeting areas across Kupwara and Poonch districts. Indian troops responded swiftly and with precision, effectively controlling the situation. This incident followed similar violations reported the previous night, where Pakistani forces targeted Indian positions in the Tutmari Gali and Rampur sectors. Indian soldiers had responded then as well with appropriate force to neutralize the threat. The fresh wave of ceasefire violations comes in the backdrop of heightened tensions after the deadly Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22, which claimed 26 lives. In response to the attack, Indian security forces have intensified their crackdown on terrorism, demolishing the homes of three more suspected terrorists in South Kashmir — Adnan Shafi Dar in Shopian’s Zainapora area, Amir Nazir in Pulwama’s Daramdora locality, and Jameel Ahmad in Bandipora’s Naz Colony. This brings the total number of demolished homes linked to suspected terrorists to nine since the Pahalgam attack. Diplomatic relations between India and Pakistan have also deteriorated sharply. New Delhi has cancelled visas for Pakistani nationals and announced the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, a key agreement signed in the 1960s.Pakistan, in response, has put the 1972 Shimla Agreement on hold and shut its airspace to Indian carriers. Amid the rising tensions, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has called for a firm but careful approach. While supporting a tough stance against terrorism, he urged authorities to avoid actions that could alienate the broader public. “Punish the guilty without mercy,” Abdullah posted on X, “but ensure that innocent lives are not caught in the crossfire.”
April 26, 2025A day after suspending visa services for Pakistani nationals, the Centre has instructed all states and Union Territories to identify individuals present in India under 14 specific visa categories — including those issued for business, journalism, tourism, film, and pilgrimage — and to ensure their swift repatriation. This directive, issued by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, follows the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists. Several states, including Gujarat and Odisha, have already begun acting on the order by initiating the departure process for Pakistani nationals within their jurisdictions. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) clarified that the directive includes student and medical visas, while diplomatic, official, and long-term visas remain unaffected. The exit deadline varies by visa type, ranging from April 26 to April 29. The order, shared with states during a video conference chaired by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, emphasized strict adherence. States were notified that all Pakistani visas—except for long-term, diplomatic, and official—stand revoked effective April 27. Medical visas are valid only through April 29. The Ministry of External Affairs and the Bureau of Immigration were also instructed to ensure full compliance. According to MHA data, 1,112 Long-Term Visas were issued to Pakistani minority community members between April 2023 and March 2024. While holders of LTVs are exempt from the recent revocations, intelligence agencies are closely monitoring their movements, especially in states like Kerala and Maharashtra. This move is part of a broader set of countermeasures initiated by India in response to the Pahalgam incident, in which terrorists — three of whom are believed to be from Pakistan — opened fire on a tourist group. In addition to the visa restrictions, India has suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, expelled Pakistani diplomats and defense officials, downgraded diplomatic ties, and sealed the Attari-Wagah land border. India’s 3,323 km border with Pakistan, stretching through states like Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat and the UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, has seen heightened surveillance. Officials have instructed border forces to boost security measures, deploy more personnel, upgrade surveillance equipment, reinforce fencing, and improve intelligence sharing to counter infiltration threats. In states like Kerala, intelligence reports suggest that over 100 Pakistani citizens are currently present, with most staying on visitor visas. In Gujarat, one visitor has already left, with six more departures imminent. Odisha has served notices to 12 Pakistani nationals, while Uttarakhand confirmed that of three short-term visitors, two have departed and the remaining one has been notified to exit by April 27. In Maharashtra, Pune district officials revealed that of 111 Pakistani nationals identified, 90 are on LTVs — largely belonging to the Hindu community — and the rest are mainly in India for medical purposes. Meanwhile, in Goa, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant confirmed that three Pakistani visitors have been asked to leave by April 29, and 17 others are on Long-Term Visas. As the Centre enforces its latest visa and border measures, state administrations across the country are moving swiftly to ensure full compliance, amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
April 25, 2025NEW DELHI — In a stern diplomatic response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian embassy in Washington issued a strong statement justifying India’s decision to suspend the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan. The embassy emphasized that ongoing cooperation is untenable with a nation that sponsors violence against civilians. Citing Pakistan’s long-standing, state-supported terrorism, India said the trust and goodwill that once shaped the historic water-sharing agreement have been fundamentally undermined. The Indus Waters Treaty was established with the intention of fostering goodwill. That spirit no longer survives in the face of continued cross-border terrorism,” the statement read. India formally notified Pakistan that the treaty would be put on hold, effective immediately. In a letter to his Pakistani counterpart, Jal Shakti Ministry Secretary Debashree Mukherjee stressed, “Treaty obligations must be honoured in good faith. Pakistan, however, has used terrorism as a tool against India, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.” The move follows Pakistan’s warning that any attempt to divert water under the treaty would be considered an “act of war.” India, undeterred, announced sweeping countermeasures during a high-level Cabinet Committee on Security meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri detailed the immediate measures, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty until Pakistan ends its support for terrorism. Closure of the Integrated Check Post at Attari, with travel limited to verified returnees until May 1, 2025 Cancellation of all SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme benefits for Pakistani nationals Annulment of existing SPES visas, requiring current holders to exit India within 48 hours In a diplomatic escalation, India has also expelled all Pakistani defence, naval, air, and military advisors from its High Commission, granting them one week to leave. India’s defence representatives in Islamabad will similarly be withdrawn. The government’s message is clear: India will not uphold agreements with a country that continues to fuel violence and instability across its borders.
April 24, 2025In a historic and assertive move, India has suspended the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) of 1960, a pact that has weathered over six decades of turbulent relations between New Delhi and Islamabad. The decision comes in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 Indian tourists. “This treaty will remain in abeyance until Pakistan verifiably and permanently ends its support for cross-border terrorism,” said Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Wednesday evening. Despite similar provocations in the past—such as the Pulwama attack in 2019 and the Uri assault in 2016, which killed 18 soldiers—India refrained from suspending the treaty.Following the Uri attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi notably stated, “Blood and water cannot flow simultaneously.” This time, however, the government has acted decisively. By halting the IWT, India opens a spectrum of strategic possibilities—from curtailing the flow of water from the Indus, Jhelum, and Chenab rivers to withholding crucial hydrological data from Pakistan. The economic and agricultural consequences for Pakistan, heavily reliant on the Indus River system, could be significant. What Path Lies Ahead for Pakistan? Although the treaty doesn’t empower the United Nations’ International Court of Justice to intervene, it does provide a structured mechanism for dispute resolution. The procedure starts with the Permanent Indus Commission (PIC), which includes delegates from both India and Pakistan. If unresolved, the matter escalates to a neutral expert appointed by the World Bank—as it did during past disputes over the Kishenganga and Ratle hydroelectric projects, where India’s stance was upheld. If both sides remain at an impasse, the final recourse is the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) in The Hague, under Article IX of the treaty. In the most recent dispute, Pakistan sought arbitration via the PCA, diverging from the neutral expert route. India’s Ministry of External Affairs reaffirmed that “the Neutral Expert’s verdict on issues within his jurisdiction will be conclusive and obligatory for both parties.” Can India Unilaterally Terminate the Treaty? Despite India’s firm response, the IWT itself does not permit unilateral withdrawal. Article XII clearly states that the treaty remains in force unless both nations mutually agree to terminate it through a ratified agreement. Moreover, although the 1969 Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties governs the procedures for treaty termination, India is not a signatory. However, it often refers to its principles for guidance. India cannot entirely block water flow but is within its rights to reduce it under certain provisions, particularly Article 3 of the treaty. While this action could invite scrutiny and possibly set a precedent for other upstream nations, India frames it as a necessary response to repeated terror attacks.
April 23, 2025Following Tuesday’s devastating terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir—which left 28 people dead, including several tourists—Pakistan on Wednesday broke its silence, expressing concern but stopping short of condemning the attackers. In its initial response, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs acknowledged the tragic loss of civilian lives, especially tourists, while carefully avoiding any direct criticism of the militant group behind the assault. Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, meanwhile, categorically denied any link to the attack, asserting during an interview with Live 92 News that the violence in Kashmir is driven by what he termed a “locally fueled revolution.” Asif, a senior figure in the ruling PML-N and a close confidant of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, instead accused India of fostering unrest within Pakistan’s borders. The coordinated attack unfolded in the remote Baisaran meadow—a picturesque yet secluded destination accessible only by foot or pony—catching tourists and locals off-guard. The ferocity of the ambush, which left dozens wounded, prompted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to cut short his diplomatic visit to Saudi Arabia and return to India to address the crisis. Although New Delhi has yet to officially blame Pakistan-based terror outfits, the Resistance Front (TRF)—a shadowy group suspected to be an offshoot of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba—has reportedly claimed responsibility. According to PTI, preliminary intelligence indicates that the attackers likely infiltrated from the Kishtwar region, navigating treacherous mountain trails through Kokernag to reach the attack site. Security experts believe the remote terrain provided a strategic advantage, allowing the assailants to evade detection and execute the attack with deadly precision. Reacting to the tragedy, Prime Minister Modi condemned the act in a post on X (formerly Twitter), offering condolences to the families of the victims and assuring that those responsible will face justice: > “I unequivocally condemn the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Heartfelt condolences to the families mourning the loss of their loved ones. Wishing a speedy and full recovery to all those who have been injured.Every possible support is being extended to those impacted by this tragedy. The perpetrators of this brutal act will face justice—they will not escape accountability. Their malicious intentions will be defeated. Our commitment to eradicating terrorism is unwavering and only growing stronger.” As regional tensions rise, India has yet to issue a formal rebuttal to Asif’s comments, but diplomatic friction between the two nuclear-armed neighbors appears poised to deepen further in the wake of the bloodshed.
April 23, 2025A day after the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, killing two terrorists in a fierce gun battle. The Indian Army confirmed the operation, stating that a group of militants tried to breach the Line of Control through the Sarjeevan area near Uri Nala when they were intercepted by alert troops. The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army provided an update via social media platform X, stating, “A high-intensity exchange of fire occurred between terrorists and Indian forces. Two terrorists have been eliminated and an infiltration attempt has been effectively foiled in Baramulla during the ongoing operation.” Troops also recovered a large haul of weapons, ammunition, and other combat equipment from the neutralised terrorists. The search operation is still in progress as forces continue to secure the area. This operation comes on the heels of a horrific terrorist attack at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam—also known as ‘mini Switzerland’—where 26 civilians lost their lives and several others were injured in a brutal assault that stunned the nation. In response to the attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi cut short his official visit to Saudi Arabia. He returned to New Delhi early Wednesday morning, canceling his scheduled engagements, including a state dinner hosted by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Upon arrival, PM Modi held an urgent meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to review the security situation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly criticized the Pahalgam terror attack, assuring that the perpetrators would face severe consequences. In a post on X, he remarked, “I firmly denounce the horrific act of terror in Pahalgam.” My heartfelt sympathies are with the families of the victims, and I pray for the swift recovery of those injured.”Every necessary measure is being taken to support those affected. The perpetrators of this despicable act will not go unpunished — our determination to eradicate terrorism remains unwavering.”

Bharath JantaOctober 28, 2024YouTube news channels often transform rumors and assumptions into “news” by using several strategies designed to maximize viewer engagement, even at the expense of accuracy. These methods keep audiences returning, but they often blur the lines between fact and fiction. Here are some common ways speculation is turned into content: Clickbait Titles and Thumbnails: Channels often use eye-catching, sensational titles and thumbnails that imply they have “exclusive” or “breaking” information. This approach attracts viewers before the content has been fully verified. Suggestive Language and Uncertain Phrasing: Creators frequently use terms like “it seems,” “sources say,” or “could indicate,” which suggest possibilities without confirming facts. This generates intrigue and makes the content feel newsworthy, even though it may not be based on solid evidence. Blending Facts with Speculation: Some channels combine verified information with rumors, giving the latter a sense of legitimacy. This keeps the narrative engaging while avoiding full responsibility for inaccuracies. Anonymous Sources: Channels often cite anonymous sources to justify the spread of unconfirmed details, presenting speculation as breaking news from trusted insiders, even though the information can’t be verified. User-Driven Content and Viewer Comments: Many channels monitor viewer comments to identify trending rumors or ideas, then turn these into new content. While this helps sustain engagement, it often lacks a factual basis. Frequent Updates on Developing Stories: Channels keep viewers hooked by releasing multiple updates on a story, even if these updates add little new information. This keeps the cycle of speculation going, generating more views despite the lack of substantial content. These techniques are effective in driving engagement, but they often prioritize sensationalism over accuracy, which raises ethical concerns about the integrity of the information shared on these platforms. How Misinformation Is Spread and Time Is Wasted The strategies used by YouTube news channels to turn rumors into “news” not only waste viewers’ time but also contribute to the spread of misinformation. This can have a negative impact on audiences and public discourse in several ways: 1. Time Wasting Through Sensationalism Clickbait Traps: Viewers often click on videos with sensational titles, expecting important or groundbreaking information, only to find the content lacks substance or is based on speculation. This results in wasted time that could have been spent on more meaningful or informative content. Endless “Developing Story” Updates: Channels may post updates on stories that offer little new information, keeping viewers in a loop of repetitive content. This creates a sense of urgency around trivial matters, diverting attention from more important, verified news. Example: A viewer might watch several updates on a rumored product launch, only to discover that each video recycles the same unverified information. The time spent on these videos ultimately leads to no new insights. 2. Reinforcement of False Beliefs and Misinformation Speculation Posing as Fact: Phrases like “sources say” or “it seems likely” often lead viewers to believe that unverified claims are true, especially if they lack the critical thinking skills to distinguish fact from speculation. Echo Chambers and Confirmation Bias: YouTube’s algorithm promotes content that aligns with viewers’ past interests, increasing the likelihood that misinformation will spread within like-minded communities. This creates echo chambers that reinforce unproven ideas. Example: Misinformation about health, politics, or scientific developments can spread rapidly, leading viewers to believe they are informed when they are, in fact, misled. This is particularly dangerous in areas like medical misinformation, where incorrect assumptions can lead to harmful decisions. 3. Erosion of Trust in Legitimate News Blurring Fact and Fiction: The mixing of verified facts with speculative content makes it harder for viewers to differentiate between legitimate news and rumors. This erodes the credibility of reputable news sources, causing audiences to question the accuracy of all information. Desensitization to Important Issues: When speculative content is presented as urgent or breaking, viewers become desensitized to actual news. The constant flow of pseudo-news makes it harder to recognize important events, contributing to a general apathy toward significant stories. Example: Channels that continuously push alarmist, unverified stories about public figures or policies may lead viewers to mistrust factual reports, undermining informed public discussion. 4. Financial Incentives for Channels but Disempowerment for Viewers Monetization Encourages Sensationalism: YouTube’s monetization model rewards creators based on views and watch time, creating a financial incentive to produce attention-grabbing content. Rumor-based videos generate more engagement, which translates to higher revenue, even if the content is inaccurate. Cognitive Overload for Viewers: Consuming large amounts of unreliable content can overwhelm viewers, leaving them confused and less focused on meaningful, factual information. This cognitive overload also diminishes their ability to make informed decisions. 5. Impact on Society and Public Discourse Misinformation Amplified Across Platforms: Once rumors are spread on YouTube, they often spill over into social media and even mainstream news. This amplification distorts public opinion and can influence important decisions, even though the underlying information is often false. Example: Speculative content about elections can fuel distrust in democratic processes. Channels that speculate about vote tampering or misconduct create a narrative that can influence how people perceive and engage with political events, even when there’s no evidence to support these claims. In conclusion, while YouTube channels benefit from engagement-driven content, the cost to viewers is significant. These channels contribute to the spread of misinformation, waste viewers’ time, erode trust in legitimate news sources, and distort the understanding of crucial issues. By prioritizing rumors over facts, they create an environment where truth is sacrificed for profit, making it difficult for audiences to distinguish reliable news from speculative noise.

SravaniApril 22, 2025Bengaluru: Police in Bengaluru have taken Pallavi and Kriti—wife and daughter of former Karnataka DGP Om Prakash—into custody in connection with his sudden and tragic demise. The arrests come after a formal complaint lodged by the retired officer’s son, Kartikesh, who alleged that his mother and sister were directly involved in the killing. The 68-year-old ex-top cop, a 1981 batch IPS officer originally from Bihar, was found lifeless and covered in blood inside his residence in the upscale HSR Layout area on Sunday. His body was discovered on the ground floor of the family’s three-storey home, bearing multiple wounds. According to Kartikesh’s complaint, tensions had been mounting within the household. He claimed his mother had been threatening to harm his father for over a week, prompting Om Prakash to seek temporary refuge at his sister Saritha Kumari’s home. However, two days before the fatal incident, Kriti allegedly convinced him to return to their residence. Recalling the moment he was informed, Kartikesh said he was at the Karnataka Golf Association when a neighbor called to relay the devastating news. “I hurried back home and found my father lying in a pool of blood, suffering from severe injuries to his head and body. A shattered bottle and a knife were lying close to him,” he recounted. He added that frequent altercations between his father and the two women had become the norm at home, leading him to suspect foul play. His police complaint demanded immediate legal action. Investigators suspect that the incident stemmed from a domestic conflict that turned violent. A senior police officer revealed that Pallavi allegedly threw chilli powder at Om Prakash’s face before attacking him with a kitchen knife. Reports also suggest that Pallavi had a history of mental health issues and was being treated for schizophrenia. Following the incident, Pallavi reportedly made a video call to a friend. That friend’s husband contacted the authorities, triggering swift police intervention. Officials believe long-standing family tensions could have escalated into the brutal assault. In her statement, Pallavi alleged that her husband had repeatedly threatened them with a firearm and claimed her actions were in self-defense. “She told us there was a scuffle after he became violent, and she acted to protect herself and Kriti,” a police source confirmed. The investigation also uncovered that Pallavi had previously attempted to lodge a complaint against her husband at the HSR Layout police station. Frustrated by inaction, she even staged a sit-in outside the station, seeking justice. Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara acknowledged the seriousness of the case and assured that a thorough investigation was in progress. “There appears to have been ongoing tension within the family. Police are investigating all angles to determine the exact cause of the incident,” he told the media. State Bids Farewell to Former DGP with Full Honours After an autopsy was conducted at St. John’s Medical College Hospital, Om Prakash’s body was handed over to his family. The cremation took place on Monday evening at the Wilson Garden Cremation Ground with full state honours. Senior police officers, family members, and close friends gathered for the funeral, where his son, Kartikesh, carried out the final rites. “I’ve submitted my complaint, and I believe the police will handle the matter fairly. I won’t comment further until the investigation concludes,” he told reporters following the cremation. Om Prakash, who hailed from Champaran in Bihar, had a distinguished career in the Indian Police Service. He was appointed as Karnataka’s DGP on March 1, 2015, and was known for his contributions to the state’s law enforcement and public service.
SravaniMarch 26, 2025Rohtak: Three months after a yoga instructor disappeared, police uncovered his body in a pit in Charkhi Dadri, revealing that he was allegedly buried alive due to a suspected affair with the wife of the prime suspect, officials said on Wednesday. The victim, 45-year-old Jagdeep, had been employed at a local institution and was residing in rented accommodation. His family reported him missing three months ago, prompting an investigation at Shivaji Colony police station. Authorities, after analyzing CCTV footage, arrested two associates of the main suspect, Rajkaran, who allegedly suspected Jagdeep of being involved with his wife. The investigation led to the grim discovery on Monday when the police found the body buried seven feet deep in a village in Charkhi Dadri. “The prime suspect, Rajkaran, is currently on the run, and efforts are being made to track him down along with another suspect. Two of his accomplices have already been apprehended,” said Inspector Dilbag Singh of Shivaji Colony, Rohtak. According to preliminary findings, Rajkaran believed his wife was having an illicit relationship with Jagdeep. However, further details will be confirmed once he is arrested, Singh added. During interrogation, the arrested suspects confessed to kidnapping Jagdeep, taping his mouth shut, binding his hands and feet, and transporting him to Charkhi Dadri, where they had prepared a pit in a secluded field. The victim was then allegedly buried alive, police said. The shocking crime has surfaced amid national outrage over the brutal murder of former Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut. Rajput was allegedly drugged and stabbed to death by his wife Muskan and her lover Sahil on March 4. His body was later dismembered and sealed inside a cement-filled drum. The accused couple then took a vacation to Himachal Pradesh while misleading Rajput’s family by sending messages from his phone. The crime was uncovered after his family reported him missing on March 18, leading to the arrest of Muskan and Sahil.
SravaniMarch 15, 2025Vadodara Car Crash: Law Student Blames Airbags for Loss of Control, Admits to Consuming Bhaang Vadodara: A tragic accident in Vadodara claimed the life of one woman and left several others injured after a car driven by a 20-year-old law student rammed into multiple vehicles and pedestrians. The driver told police that he lost control of the vehicle after the airbags deployed, obstructing his vision. The incident occurred when the student and his friend were returning from Dera Circle after dropping off another friend with whom they had attended Holika Dahan celebrations. “We were ahead of a scooty, turning right when we hit a pothole. A scooty and a car were parked near the turn, and our car touched the scooter, causing the airbags to deploy. After that, I couldn’t see where the car went,” he said, claiming the vehicle was moving at 50-60 kmph at the time. Initially denying any intoxication, the driver later admitted to consuming bhaang (cannabis). Expressing remorse, he requested to meet the victims’ families, stating, “I was told that one woman died, and others were injured. It’s my fault, and whatever the family wants should happen.” A viral video from the crash site in Vadodara’s Karelibaug area showed the car colliding with multiple vehicles at a busy intersection. The deceased was identified as Hemaliben Patel, while the injured included 12-year-old Jaini, 35-year-old Nishaben, an unidentified 10-year-old girl, and a 40-year-old man. Footage from the scene captured the driver’s friend emerging from the car in distress, while the driver, appearing unstable, shouted incoherent phrases, including “Another round” and “Om Namah Shivay.” Vadodara Joint Commissioner of Police Leena Patil confirmed that the driver was under the influence and had been taken into custody. Police Commissioner Narasimha Komar stated that at least three vehicles, including an electric vehicle, were involved in the collision.
